Man Dies after Shot at Bus Stop

HOUSTON - Deputies arrest a suspect in the shooting of a man at a METRO bus stop in the Mission Bend subdivision.

Volunteer firefighters and deputies arrived at approximately 9 p.m. Wednesday to the bus stop at the intersection of Bellaire Boulevard and Addicks Clodine Road in southwest Harris County and found the shooting victim with several wounds. He was taken by LifeFlight to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he later died.

Investigators say a male approached the man seated at the bus stop, demanded money from him and then shot him before riding away on a bicycle.

An off-duty deputy who witnessed the shooting ran after the suspect and tackled him off the bicycle. Deputies later arrested the suspect.
