HOUSTON - A student at Texas Southern University critically shot a high school student near the university’s campus, a school spokeswoman said.
TSU says the shooting occurred as two Jack Yates High School students tried to rob the college student at a bus stop on campus.
Police were called the scene just after 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, and emergency crews acted fast to perform CPR on the victim.
The victim was conscious as he was taken to the hospital.
TSU Police took the shooting suspect into custody.
The high school and university are located next to each other in the Third Ward neighborhood of Houston.
