Deputies are searching for a man suspected in a series of Fort Bend County store robberies and a stabbing that occurred during one of the crimes.
On Saturday, the suspect first struck a grocery store in the 3500 block of FM 521 and then a convenience store in the 4300 block of FM 521 just several hours later, according to a Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office statement.
In both robberies, the man placed the employees in a headlock and held a knife to their throat as he demanded them to open the cash registers, according to the statement. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of crash from both locations and fled in a gray or gold mid-sized SUV.
But detectives also suspect the man is responsible for two other convenience store robberies in Missouri City, according to the statement. One of the robberies occurred Sunday in the 2900 block of Texas Parkway and the other on Sunday in the 7100 block of Highway 6.
During the Sunday Missouri City robbery, the suspect stabbed a convenience store clerk, according to the statement. The clerk was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
Anyone with information regarding the suspect's identity or whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office at 281-341-4665 or the Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers hot line at 281-342-8477.
