Circumstances are eerily similar in two separate accidents where drivers were killed when their vehicles left the roadway and crashed into ditches.
Harris County Sheriff's Department officials say that around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, a driver was killed when their vehicle left the northbound lanes of Veterans Memorial near Spears Road and entered a ditch on the east side of the roadway.
Officials report that the vehicle struck a concrete culvert and rolled onto its roof.
A witness stopped to assist the driver but no signs of life were found by emergency crews on scene, say officials
Around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, the sheriff's department reports that in a separate accident, an unidentified driver lost control while traveling westbound in the 8000 block of Humble Westfield at a high rate of speed.
The sheriff's department reports that the driver was ejected when his vehicle left the roadway and rolled several times after crashing into a ditch.
Emergency crews arrived on scene, but found no signs of life with the driver, say officials.
Both accidents are under investigation by the Harris County Sherriff's Department.
