Authorities find an illegal methamphetamine production operation inside a Splendora mobile home and arrest an 18-year-old who they say tried to escape.
Montgomery County Precinct 4 deputy constables and Texas Department of Public Safety Narcotics investigators arrived late Wednesday night to a mobile home community at the intersection of East River Road and 11th Street. After authorities knocked on the door of one of the homes, two mean ran out through the back of the property, but they were able to catch the teen.
The teen's 37-year-old father was not caught, but authorities will continue searching for him.
After obtaining permission to search the property, officials found a methamphetamine laboratory in one of the three homes. One of the other two homes were abandoned while the other is where the father and son lived.
The teen was taken to Montgomery County Jail and has been charged with possession, but may face a charge of manufacturing methamphetamine.
