HOUSTON - A man surrenders to police after a Special Weapons and Tactics unit spent more than two hours convincing him to leave a northwest Houston apartment unit.
Relatives first contacted police at approximately 9 p.m. Wednesday after they say the 44-year-old man had been making threats earlier that day and was carrying a gun.
Police say that the man had locked himself inside his room at the unit of a complex on Campbell Road near Spring Branch Drive.
The SWAT team arrived at approximately 11 p.m. and the man finally gave himself up after 1 a.m. Thursday.
