Published : Saturday, 16 May 2009, 5:37 PM CDT

The National Weather Service in League City has issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for parts of southeast Texas until 6:15 p.m.

The Flood Advisory has been issued for eastern Austin County, eastern Colorado County, northern Colorado County, northern Fort Bend County, western Harris County, southwestern Montgomery County and Waller County.

Ar 5:10 pm. National Weather Service Doppler Radar indicated a cluster of slow moving storms situated along and about 15 miles north of Interstate 10 between Addicks and Sealy.

Rainfall rates up to 2.5 inches per hour are possible within the stronger cells of the cluster and due to slow movement, some of this rainfall could produce some street and feeder flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall may cause elevated water levels on small creeks, streams and bayous. Additionally ponding of water will occur on highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage areas and low lying areas.

Please report flooding to the county sheriff, local police or Department of Public Safety and ask them to relay your report to the National Weather Service.
