Mom Spends Mother's Day Protecting Kids

HOUSTON - While many people honor moms this weekend, one local mother was fighting to protect children.

Deonesia Grays' daughter drowned four years ago at a pool party. To honor her daughter's life, she founded a community-education website called 'Bria's House' to help parents keep children safe around water.

Grays encourages parents to learn CPR and most importantly keep an eye on all children playing near water.

"Watch your children no matter what. Don't turn your back, don't blink! Watch your children and then on top of that get (them) lessons," said Grays.

Shortly after her daughter died, Grays made sure her son learned to swim.
