"It's not right they can just come and push the little guy around and say hey my mistake," said Charles Gilliam, during an interview with Fox 26 Investigates.
No one would call Gilliam a little guy and good luck pushing him around. Looks like the Port Of Houston and American Title Company are learning that one the hard way.
In a lawsuit Gilliam is accusing the Port and American Title of trying to steal his grandmother's land right out from under him.
According to court documents, in 2006, Gilliam agreed to sell several acres of his family's land to the Port of Houston as long as lots 9 and 10 were not part of the deal.
"Because there are these buildings on the property that had a great deal of sentimental value to him," said Timothy Lankau, Gilliam's attorney. "Everything's gone the Port had destroyed my barns, my fences, my pet cemetery I had since I was a kid."
The lawsuit claims the Port contacted American Title and coerced American Title to provide a falsified deed that conveyed lots 9 and 10 to the Port
"They put the property right back in my name but I still have nothing" Gilliam said.
But the story takes a bizarre turn. Watch the video story on the left to see the full report by FOX 26's Randy Wallace.
