Students Learn Dangers of Drunk Driving

HOUSTON - It is a scene repeated thousands of times a year on Texas roads.

Someone drinking and driving gets into a horrible accident, and often times, people are killed.

Shattered Dreams is a recreation of what could happen when you drink and drive.

Even though the images are shocking and the screaming unnerving, they're just recreations--but they’re as close as you can get.

This is important because the Lone Star State leads the country in alcohol-related deaths.

Does it have an impact?

Senior Brandon Hollier calls it a reality check.

To make sure these young drivers really get the message, one of the students will be dressed as the grim reaper, going into classrooms and pulling students out.

Those students will get a white face and a black T-shirt signifying death, and before the end of the day every classroom, will have at least one of those victims.
