Akin Helps Mom Relieve Financial Stress

HOUSTON - In this economy it can be tough to get your feet on solid financial ground.That's why it's important to find the right kind of financial help.

When FOX 26 Reporter Emily Akin helped single mother Janelle Mc Beth with her high interest car title loan, she was in a downward economic spiral. Akin helped solve the loan issue.

However, the bigger problem still existed: McBeth needed a major financial overhaul.

"We're up for eviction because I don't have the money for the rent," McBeth said.

She was working two jobs and couldn't make ends meet.

Joshua Reynolds of Family Serices of Greater Houston pointed out, "It's never that someone isn't working hard enough, in fact most of our clients are working too hard and not smart enough."

Family Services gave McBeth the tools to reach her goals and stay out of debt.

" Now I know that I can have stability and I can teach the stability to my kids and I can own these things and it is not impossible. It's full speed straight ahead," she said.
