Program Helps Houstonians Get Car Loans

HOUSTON - Sometimes, mom and dad just need a little help to get their family back on its feet.

Whether its high medical bills, layoffs or a family emergency, parents can often end up facing eviction, car repossession, food lines and even moving into a shelter.

Sometimes all that's needed is transportation so that a parent can get to work. But getting a car loan when you have bad credit can be expensive, as much as 28 percent interest.

There is help available.

Family Services of Greater Houston offers qualified clients the opportunity to get a car with affordable interest rates.

The program is called Ways to Work. It does more than just offer car loans, it helps families manage their finances and even save for their children's college education.
