2-Alarm Fire Burns Apartments

HOUSTON - A 2-alarm apartment fire destroyed several homes on Sunday afternoon, and investigators say they may know what started it.

Around 3 p.m. the Houston Fire Department responded to the complex on Barker Cypress at Mayde Creek Fair in northwest Houston.

Firefighters found heavy smoke and flames coming from several of the units.

Eight units were destroyed by the time the flames were put out, but no injuries were reported.

Arson investigators believe a lit candle accidentally started the blaze.
