Teacher Faces Felony Charge

A Lamar-Consolidated ISD teacher was arrested on accusations she had an improper relationship with a student.

Megan Kastner, 25, is being held on a $30,000 on a improper relationship between educator and student charge, a second-degree felony, police said.

Kastner was fired last week after she allegedly confessed to having an inappropriate relationship with a student, district officials have said.

The alleged relationship occurred outside of school, but a Lamar Consolidated High School administrator received a tip that sparked an investigation, officials have said.

Kastner was a first-year teacher at the school district and had only one year's teaching experience at another.
