Man Shot in Channelview Burglary Attempt

A man who Sheriff's deputies say was trying burglarize a home is taken by helicopter to the hospital after he is shot.

The shooting took place after 12 a.m. Wednesday in a business at the intersection of Wadsworth Street and Talcott Street in Channelview.

Harris County Sheriff's investigators have not determined if a clerk or a security guard shot the would-be burglar.

The 44-year-old man accused of trying to burglarize the store was shot in the abdomen and taken by LifeFlight to Memorial Hermann Hospital.
