MyFoxHouston - The sudden deaths of Michael Jackson and Billy Mays are a
reminder of just how important it is to have an updated will in
place, especially if you have been married multiple times.
Scott Hill, vice president of Kanaly Trust, says wills are
Important because they ensure your estate is settled and
distributed according to your wishes, designate specifically who
will receive your assets and may prevent unanticipated
disagreements after your death.
For people who have been married multiple times, it is important when writing a will to remove an ex-spouse from the document, remove the ex-spouse as beneficiary from insurance policies, retirement accounts and bank accounts.
Hill also recommends the exercise of prenuptial and post-nuptial agreements.
