HOUSTON - After almost 25 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. Rick Jones spends his time organizing job fairs for veterans.

"We've done all the work. We found the companies that want to look at them and talk to them about positions," describes Jones for FOX 26 News reporter Pattie Shieh.

On Thursday, Feb. 25, at least 30 employers will be at Minute Maid Park with employment offering openings ranging from entry level to management. Perhaps the toughest part for some veterans may be just choosing a career path. Jones encourages them to be open and flexible.

"In the military, you're exposed to so many different environments - training environments, operations environments, supply and logistics environments, which one do you want to narrow it down to and go into? That's hard."

For the employers, they will be getting workers who have left a very regimented atmosphere, but that also means these are employees who are accustomed to structure.

"That discipline is going to take them very far out here because they won't stop. They're going to get to work on time and they are going to stay until the job is done."

The job fair will take place at Minute Maid Park on Thursday, Feb. 25 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. There will also be free parking available.

Applicants must make sure to bring at least 20 copies of their resumes and be prepared for interviews.
