Houston 'Indie' Music Festival Debuts

HOUSTON - Some of the hottest bands in the U.S. will be appearing in Houston for the first-ever Free Press Houston Summer Fest.

The music festival takes place Saturday, August 8, and Sunday, August 9, at Eleanor Tinsley Park on Buffalo Bayou. The event will start at 12 p.m. and end at 10 p.m. both days.

Omar Afra and Jagi Katil, from Free Press Houston preview the event and explain what inspired its beginning.

Performers at the Free Press Summer Fest include Houston-based rapper Devin the Dude and Of Montreal, who will appear at Lollapalooza 2009 in Chicago two days before the Aug. 9 appearance.
