Defense Department Honors Local Company

A Houston Oil Field Services company has been honored by the Defense Department.

The Department named FMC Incorporated one of the best places for military reservists and guardsmen to work

FMC was one of 15 companies and organizations to receive the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award during ceremonies in Washington D.C.

The award is given to firms that go above and beyond the call of duty to help reservists and their families.

John Gremp, an FMC vice-president, says it's the highest honor the government gives to employers.

"We don't want those servicemen and women to worry about their families," Gremp says. "They've got so much more to worry about when they're deploayed."
