Gallery Furniture has become a Houston-area icon and is well known throughout Texas, but on May 21, a fire destroyed the popular store's warehouse along Interstate 45, the North Freeway.
Owner Jim 'Mattress Mac' McIngvale vowed to rebuild the warehouse and reopen his flagship store on Independence Day.
McIngvale, who will fulfill that promise on Saturday, July 4, previews the reopening ceremony and events on FOX 26 Morning News.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and the store will officially open at 10 a.m.
McIngvale said the warehouse fire cost him approximately $10 million of inventory and the temporary closure of his North Freeway store
