NEWS

Reporter Full Time Regular
Work an assigned beat, establish contacts, identify stories of relevance to the community, report live and taped as assigned, work varied shifts with little notice, adhere to newsroom policies about news gathering and fair/accurate reporting/writing. College degree in Journalism or related field and minimum of three years paid broadcast news reporting required. Fill-in anchoring experience a huge Plus! Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and be computer literate.

Assignment Editor Full Time Regular
Responsible for monitoring scanners, maintaining the assignment file, and coordinating field crews. Requires self-starter with good news judgment and the ability to multi-task and think quickly in a fast paced environment. Need good eyes & ears for news and the ability to get the word out to the staff. Two years newsroom assignment desk experience required. Must also be a team player with the ability to work well under pressure for extended periods of time. Must have excellent communication skills, both written & verbal.

TRAFFIC

Traffic Director Full Time Regular
Responsible for quality and accuracy of overall traffic functions for duopoly including production of daily program logs, program formats, maintenance of avails, training and oversight of staff to ensure that all functions of traffic are in compliance with company policies and procedures as well as FCC regulations. College degree preferred. Minimum 3 yrs broadcast television traffic management experience required. Pilat experience also preferred. Must have ability to work within strict guidelines and time parameters. Must be extremely detail oriented, have excellent computer skills, and be able to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.

Qualified applicants must provide an official letter from an accredited college or university confirming that he/she will receive course credit if selected for our internship program.

All internships require a minimum of 20 hours per week for 8 weeks.

Applicants must also submit an essay in 250 words or less answering the following questions:

1. In which department are you interested in doing an internship? Why?
2. What duties do you expect to perform in your internship? What do you expect to learn?
3. Why should you be selected in the FOX 26 Internship Program?
