Kristine Galvan | KRIV
Kristine was just four years old when a photographer for KIII-TV spotted her riding a go-cart with her dad and asked to videotape their outing. The video became part of a news promotional spot for the station (TV 3 Loves You).
Fast forward to present time. Kristine joined the FOX 26 reporter team in September 2005. Between her television debut on that go-cart and now, she reported for KRGV-TV, the ABC affiliate in the Rio Grande Valley from 2000 to 2005.
Kristine is an Emmy award winning reporter who's also picked up several AP awards over the past decade. She was named Citizen of the Year for saving a man's life after he was gunned down in a car at a busy highway intersection. Kristine's reporting has also received recognition from the United States Department of Defense.
Born and raised in the small town of Falfurrias, Texas (yes, as in Falfurrias Butter), Kristine is thrilled the "big city" she used to visit as a child is now her home. She and her husband just finished building a house out of shipping containers (!) near downtown Houston.
Besides the news, Kristine keeps busy traveling to south Texas for quiet time with her extended family, but she loves all traveling especially if there's a beach involved. Kristine is a PADI certified scuba diver.
Her other hobbies include trying out new recipes, experimenting with still photography, and writing. Kristine is currently writing her first book.
